Prepare Before Coming to Taiwan 來臺前準備
Resident Visa 居留簽證
- Receiving agency: R.O.C. (Taiwan) overseas mission受理單位：中華民國（臺灣）駐外館處
- Visa type: Resident Visa, for a stay longer than 180 days簽證種類：居留簽證，居留天數超過 180 日
- Purpose: Foreign Student - full-time bachelor’s degree program訪臺目的：外國學生就讀正式學士學位班
On-campus Housing 學生宿舍
- Apply through the process announced by the Center for Global Engagement.請依國際與兩岸事務中心公告的流程申請。
- Assignment results are scheduled for Aug. 25, 2026.床位結果預定於 2026 年 8 月 25 日公告。
- Dorm move-in is scheduled for Sep. 2, 2026.宿舍預定於 2026 年 9 月 2 日辦理入住。
English Placement Test 大一外文英文分級考試
- Foreign-language options include English, Japanese, German, and Korean.外文課程可選擇英文、日文、德文或韓文。
- International students choosing English must complete the placement test.境外學生若選擇英文，必須完成英文分級考試。
- Your required foreign-language credits cannot be taken in your native language.外文必修學分不得選修自己的母語。

When can I move into the dorm? 什麼時候可以入住學校宿舍？
The scheduled move-in date is Sep. 2, 2026. Confirm your bed assignment and the latest housing notice before arrival.預定入住日期為 2026 年 9 月 2 日；抵臺前請確認床位分配結果與最新住宿通知。
When should I apply for an ARC? 抵臺後多久必須申請居留證？
Apply within 30 days after entering Taiwan. Follow the National Immigration Agency’s current requirements.請於入境臺灣後 30 日內提出申請，並依內政部移民署最新規定辦理。
Do I need to take the English placement test? 是否一定要參加英文分級考試？
International students who plan to take English as their required foreign-language course must complete the placement test.境外學生若計畫選擇英文作為外文必修課程，必須完成英文分級考試。
Can I take my native language for foreign-language credit? 可以選自己的母語作為外文必修嗎？
No. Required foreign-language credits cannot be earned by studying your own native language.不可以；外文必修學分不得以自己的母語課程取得。
What if I cannot arrive on time? 如果無法準時抵臺該怎麼辦？
Contact the GPIS Office and the Center for Global Engagement as soon as possible. Do not assume that registration or scholarship eligibility will be automatically retained.請儘速聯絡 GPIS 班辦及國際與兩岸事務中心；請勿自行假設註冊或獎助資格會自動保留。
